AGA, the leading industrial gas company in Northern Europe and Baltics, has decided to centralise more of its functions to Estonia by renaming Tallinn’s Shared Service Center to Business Service Center. The change will expand the scope of functions, in addition to supporting functions towards specialists and experts, to develop AGA’s gas business in Northern Europe.
In 2006, AGA established a Shared Service Center in Estonia to increase the efficiency in many of its regional functions in the Nordic and Baltic countries by integrating them into one center. Today, the regional AGA Shared Service Center incorporates approximately 200 tasks for different front and back office functions, from customer service, order-to-cash processes, IS and Procurement service desk, material data handling and reporting to SAP and eCommerce specialists. The aim for the coming times is to grow the center from 150 employees today up to 200 employees working with us.
Pauli Toiviainen, the Head of AGA Business Services in the regional business unit Northern Europe, says: “During the past year, we have established new positions in Tallinn to develop our digital services in order to use the potential of Estonians being one of the leading nations in e-services and digitalisation. We expect to find the best resources here.”
“In the Nordic and Baltic countries, AGA will soon launch its online shops for buying and ordering gases and equipment. We have recently launched an innovative 24/7 self-service gas point, which is a concept piloted in Estonia and soon to expand to other AGA and The Linde Group countries. We also continue with Propane Vending Machines to improve the availability of propane cylinders in the areas, where people move and need to buy propane,” bringing examples of ongoing digitalisation projects supported by the Business Service Center.
People working within the Business Service Center are from many different countries, with many experiences: from expatriates returning home, to different other nationalities finding Estonia an attractive country to live in and AGA an attractive employer to work for. The center enables many possibilities for both their employees and job seekers to apply their experience and knowledge towards working and being promoted in their job, in order to fulfil their career path.
